Wolves Defeat Fronts
The Sudbury Wolves made it two road wins in a row by defeating the Kingston Frontenacs 3-2 on Saturday evening in Kingston. The Wolves trailed 1-0 after two periods and 2-1 in the third period before mounting the comeback.
NATHAN PANCEL tied the game at 1-1 early in the third period but Kingston quickly responded with a goal giving the home team a 2-1 lead with less than 10 minutes to play in the game. JOSH LEIVO then tied the contest on a nice set-up by rookie centre DOMINIK KAHUN. Queue the heroics by MATHEW CAMPAGNA with 1:26 remaining on the clock. CAMPAGNA made a nice play from behind the Kingston net and roofed the puck on the short-side on overage goaltender MICHAEL MORRISON of the Fronts. It was a great individual effort by the Mississauga native and his second goal in as many games.
Shots on goal were 34-33 for Kingston. TAYLOR DUPUIS won his second consecutive OHL start in goal for the Wolves. DUPUIS was named the game`s 2nd star. FRANK CORRADO had two assists while NATHAN PANCEL finished the game with a goal and an assist. The Wolves will be looking to make it three road wins in a row on Sunday when they travel to Ottawa to play the 67`s. Game time is 2:00 pm.
