Wolves Deal O’Neill
The Sudbury Wolves announced today that they have traded 19-year-old goaltender BRENDAN O’NEILL to the North Bay Battalion. In return, the Wolves receive a conditional 8th round draft choice from the Battalion. O’Neill played for the Carlton Place Canadians of the Ottawa Jr. A league last season. O’Neill also had stops with the Kingston Voyageurs and the Trenton Hawks.
The Wolves now have six goaltenders vying for starting positions with the club including overage candidate FRANKY PALAZZESE who will be attending the Edmonton Oilers camp in September. Also returning is 19-year-old goaltender TAYLOR DUPUIS. The Wolves will also have 18-year-old goaltending prospect BRYAN RAYMOND returning along with local product, 17-year-old MICHAEL MUZYKA.
Free agent 17-year-old invite DEVON DEBASTOS from the Timmins Major Midgets will be attending the Wolves’ main camp while 16-year-old goaltender TROY TIMPANO, who was the first goaltender drafted in this year’s OHL Priority Draft, will be in attendance as well. TIMPANO is presently competing for a goaltending position on Team Ontario’s U17 team at the final camp try-outs in Oshawa this weekend.
