Wolves Announce February Award Winners
The Sudbury Wolves are pleased to announce the winners of February’s “PLAYER OF THE MONTH” awards.
Travelodge Hotel Community Service Award
The February winner of the TRAVELODGE HOTEL COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD is defenceman CHARLIE DODERO. Over the course of the month, Charlie was involved in many School Visits and participated in the Sudbury Wolves Hockey Card Autograph Session. Charlie has become an excellent leader both on and off the ice and his work ethic is unmatched. He has had an outstanding season, almost doubling his point totals from last season with 26 points as well as continuing to improve upon his defensive play.
Molson Canadian Molson Cup Three Star Award
Forward, MICHAEL SGARBOSSA is the winner of the February Molson Cup Three Star Award. SGARBOSSA was selected as a star in 8 of the 13 games played throughout the month. He was named the first star on three occasions second star twice and third star three times. He has been having a phenomenal season as he sits in second place in league scoring with 84 points, second place in goals scored with 41 and first place in the OHL in power play goals with 15.
Campbell’s Scholastic Award
The February winner of the CAMPBELL’S SCHOLASTIC AWARD is 17 year-old, MATHEW CAMPAGNA. Mathew attends LaSalle Secondary School where he has earned an 80% average in his first semester courses. After receiving an injury that has kept him out of the line-up for almost 2 months, CAMPAGNA recently returned last weekend when the Wolves travelled south on their final swing through the Western Conference. His return couldn’t be at a better time with play-offs just around the corner.
Industrial Alliance Player of the Month Award
MICHAEL SGARBOSSA has also been selected as the winner of the February INDUSTRIAL ALLIANCE PLAYER OF THE MONTH AWARD. SGARBOSSA leads the team in scoring with 84 points and was named the OHL Player of the Week for the week ending February 19th after scoring 8 points in 3 games.
All monthly award winners will receive their monthly awards from their respective sponsors at the Wolves’ home games during the month of March.
