Sgarbossa Take Parts in Camp

Sudbury Wolves forward Michael Sgarbossa is one of 47 players taking part in the Team Canada Summer Development Camp in Edmonton this week.

The summer camp is the first step towards building Team Canada for the 2012 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships to be held in Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta from December 26, 2011 through to January 5, 2012.   Players will be evaluated by the coaching staff in hopes of getting an invite to the main tryout camps and eventually making the squad who will represent Canada at the annual tournament.

Sgarbossa last represented Team Canada at the IIHF World Under-18 Championships in Belarus last April.

“We are very proud of Michael and wish him success in his pursuite of a roster spot on Team Canada” says team President and General Manager, Blaine Smith.  “Michael is a very dynamic offensive talent and has developed into a very dependable two-way player as well.  We know Michael will represent himself and the Sudbury Wolves organization very well”.
