Roster Additions for the Post Season
The Sudbury Wolves have added defenceman CODY MINTZ and forward PETER
POULIN-ROY to their roster as the Wolves prepare for the upcoming play-off
season.
MINTZ, 16, was a 4th round draft pick of the Wolves in 2010 and played for
the Cobourg Cougars Jr. A of the OJHL this season. Mintz, 5’9″, 175 lbs,
recorded 8 goals and 19 assists for 27 points in 40 league games. The
Cougars were recently eliminated in the second round of the play-offs by
the Kingston Voyageurs and with the addition of Mintz, the Wolves will now
carry a total of seven defencemen. (McFadden 19, Dodero 18, Hanes 18,
Corrado 17, Sefton 17, Corbett 16, Mintz 16)
POULIN-ROY, 17, was a 14th round draft selection of the Wolves in the 2010
OHL draft and the Sudbury native scored 11 goals and added 13 assists for
24 points in 28 games with the Sudbury Major Midget Wolves this season.
POULIN-ROY, 6′, 180 lbs, brings energy, speed and tenacity to the Wolves’
line-up as evidenced by his 104 minutes in penalties this season.
POULIN-ROY made the final U17 Team Ontario Camp and impressed with his
speed and physical play. POULIN-ROY’s arrival gives the Wolves 14
forwards entering into the post-season.
The Wolves are also expected to welcome back overage forward MIKE LOMAS to
the line-up this week. LOMAS, 20, has missed the last two weeks due to
injury. The Wolves will travel to Barrie to face the Colts on Thursday
before returning home on Friday to host the BELLEVILLE BULLS at 7:30
