Road Loss
The Sudbury Wolves played a solid road game against the first place Colts but Barrie prevailed with a 6-3 victory. The Wolves trailed 4-1 at one point and narrowed the gap to 4-3 before the Colts scored mid-way through the third period and then added an empty netter to seal the win.
Danny Desrochers gave the Wolves a 1-0 lead, but, a two minute lapse handed the Colts a 3-1 lead after the first period of play. After falling behind 4-1, the Wolves responded with goals by defencemen Jeff Corbett and Jonathan Duchesne. Andrew Mangiapane scored his third goal of the contest at the mid-way mark of the third period to score the insurance marker. Joseph Blandisi scored into the empty net to give the Colts the three goal lead.
Shots on goal was 36-34 in favour of the Colts. The Wolves were 1 for 6 on the power play while the Wolves killed both Colts power plays.
Newcomer Reagan O’Grady was solid defensively for Sudbury and earned a +1 rating.
The Wolves now prepare for a 3-game road swing beginning Thursday in Windsor.
