Wyatt Johnston

Wyatt Johnston who is from Toronto Ontario, was playing for the GTHL Toronto Marlboros when he was drafted by the Spitfires in the first round (6th overall) of the 2019 OHL Priority Selection.

Wyatt has played for Canada Red U17.

Johnston is eligible for the 2021 NHL Entry Draft and was ranked a 'B' prospect in the preliminary rankings.

Johnston was selected in the first round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft by the Dallas Stars.

The Windsor Spitfires drafted Wyatt Johnston with the 6th overall pick in the 2019 OHL PS draft. Johnston had a solid rookie campaign scoring 12 goals and recorded 18 assists for 30 points. His 2nd season was shutdown due to COVID. Johnston was drafted to the Dallas Stars in the first round in 2021 with the 23rd overall pick. Johnston attended camp and put in time on and off the ice and came back with one goal in mind, being the best player in the OHL. Johnston exploded for 46 goals and recorded 78 assists and led the league with 124 points in 68 games played.

Johnston was fantastic all season long with multiple point streaks throughout the year. Johnston took home quite a bit of hardware for his efforts. Johnston won the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy as well as the William Hanley Trophy for Most Sportsmanlike player of the year. To cap off the great season Johnston won the leagues Red Tilson award for MVP.
