Hawley Joins Wolves
The Sudbury Wolves are pleased to announce that 17-year-old defenceman CHASE HAWLEY has made a commitment to play for the Sudbury Wolves Hockey Club during the 2014-15 season. The Wolves selected Hawley in the 5th round of the 2013 OHL Priority Selection draft, 95th overall.
The big, physical rearguard stands 6’2” and weighs 185 lbs. Hawley played 56 games for the Gananoque Islanders of the Eastern Ontario Junior ‘B’ hockey league this season. The Kingston native recorded 6 goals, 10 assists for 16 points and 106 minutes in penalties.
This season, the Islanders won the Rideau Division of the EOJHL by finishing in first place and defeating the Prescott Flyers in the Rideau Final. The Islanders season recently came to an end with a loss to the Casselman Vikings in the St. Lawrence/Rideau Championship Final.
With this latest commitment, the Wolves now have five Student-Athletes from the 2013 OHL Priority Selection draft committed to play with the Wolves next season including:
1st Round – Kyle Capobianco LD
2nd Round – Troy Timpano G
3rd Round – David Zeppieri C
4th Round – Austin Clapham RD
5th Round – Chase Hawley LD

We are very pleased to officially welcome Chase to our organization.”
“Becoming a member of the Sudbury Wolves has been a dream of mine since last April’s draft when I was selected” notes the newest Wolves’ defenceman. “I cannot begin to explain the excitement and pride I feel officially becoming part of the organization. My hard–work only continues as I’m looking forward to a summer of training to prepare myself for next season.”
Chase Hawley has good hockey bloodlines as his father Kent played three seasons in the OHL with theOttawa 67’s and was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1986 NHL draft by the Philadelphia Flyers.
