Dupuis Departs
The Sudbury Wolves announced that they have traded goaltender Taylor Dupuis to the Sarnia Sting. In return, the Wolves receive a 6th round draft selection in 2015. Dupuis, 19, was drafted by the Wolves in the 10th round of the 2010 OHL Draft. Dupuis played in 15 games for the Wolves last season as a 18-year-old rookie and recorded a win-loss record of 5 wins, 6 losses, 1 overtime loss and 1 shoot-out loss. Dupuis finished the 2012-13 regular season with a 3.99 goals against average and a .881 save percentage.
“We want to wish Taylor all of the best in Sarnia” notes Wolves’ GM Blaine Smith. “Taylor is 19 years of age and needs to play. He will be given a great opportunity to be a starting goalie in Sarnia. With Franky Palazzese returning and Troy Timpano looking solid as one of the best young goaltenders in the league, we felt it was in the best interests of the club to run with Franky and allow Troy to develop and benefit from Franky’s leadership in goal.”
Smith added “We also have Michael Muzyka with the Nickel Barons who is ready to come up to play for us on a moment’s notice and I know that Michael is looking forward to having a great season in the NOJHL and taking advantage of every opportunity that he receives to play for the Wolves this season. I believe that our goaltending position has never been as solid as it is right now and for the future.”
