Dodero Earns Tryout With Bruins
The Sudbury Wolves are pleased to announce that defenceman CHARLIE DODERO has accepted an invitation to attend the main try-out camp for the BOSTON BRUINS in September.
The Wolves acquired the Chicago native from the Kitchener Rangers in exchange for a 8th round draft pick in October. The 6’1″, 190 lb defenceman developed into a top 4 defencemen for the Wolves and is expected to be a leader on the Wolves’ blueline this season as a 19 year old.
“Charlie is one of our hardest working players both on and off the ice” notes Wolves’ GM Blaine Smith. “Charlie is a very positive person and his energy and passion for the game rubs-off on other players. Charlie
deserves to attend an NHL camp and we are pleased that the Bruins are giving him that opportunity.”
The Wolves now have four returning defencemen with NHL connections. JUSTIN SEFTON is drafted by the SAN JOSE SHARKS, FRANKIE CORRADO is drafted by the VANCOUVER CANUCKS, JOSH MCFADDEN has been invited to the MONTREAL CANADIENS main camp and now DODERO will be heading to BOSTON.
“Our blueline has become a strength for us heading into the 2011-12 season” adds Smith. “We have a young, skilled, mobile, gritty group of defencemen with good size. We are confident in them and we like the leadership and positive attitude that they all bring to this year’s team.”
The Wolves also have RYAN HANES (19), FRANK SCHUMACHER (17), CODY MINTZ (17), JEFF CORBETT (16) set to return to the Wolves’ blueline this season.
The Wolves also have the benefit of having some young prospects looking to crack the Wolves’ line-up this season including: TYLER PRONG (17), MICHAEL ROULEAU (17) and EVAN deHAAN (16) to name a few.
