Campagna on Fire
The Sudbury Wolves currently have a player on their roster with the longest scoring streak in the OHL as MATHEW CAMPAGNA is currently riding an eight-game point streak to lead all OHL players in that department.
The Mississauga native has racked-up 15 points in his last 8 games including 3 goals and 12 assists and has vaulted into a tie for the lead in team scoring with 29 points with linemate NATHAN PANCEL.
All of Campagna’s 7 goals scored this season have come on five-on-five situations which places him in second place in that department behind JOSH LEIVO who has scored 10 even strength goals so far this season.
The Wolves’ 1st round selection is 2010 has combined with NICK BAPTISTE and PANCEL to form a very productive offensive line of late. With DOMINIK KAHUN overseas, JOSH LEIVO sidelined for the past three weeks, and BRODY SILK under league suspension for the past two weeks, CAMPAGNA’s line has had to step-up and compete against their opponent’s top lines and defensive corps – and step-up they have.
CAMPAGNA was recently awarded a ‘letter’ on his jersey by Wolves’ head coach Trent Cull as the 18 year old forward has elevated his game and is playing the best hockey of his young OHL career. CAMPAGNA can look to extend his point-streak this Friday night when the Wolves’ host the PLYMOUTH WHALERS at 7:35 as the Wolves close-out the first-half of the season this weekend.
There are plenty of great seats available for Friday’s game. Call the arena ticket office at 671-3000 or pick-up your tickets at the door.
