Wolves Host Steelheads for Last Jr. Wolves Sunday
(GREATER SUDBURY, ON) The Sudbury Wolves are set to take on the Mississauga Steelheads this Sunday at 2:05pm. The game marks the last Jr. Wolves Sunday of the season and the first 500 youth fans in attendance will get a Wolves’ youth practice Jersey ahead of the game.
The Pack continue to lead the Central Division following two crucial wins against their divisional rival, the North Bay Battalion. Thursday’s battle finished in a 5-4 shootout victory, thanks to goals from Dalibor Dvorsky and Zacharie Giroux. On Friday, the Wolves defeated the Battalion in another 5-4 game thanks to Dalibor Dvorsky’s overtime winner.
Quentin Musty picked up 4 points in the home and home series, with a 3-point game (1G-2A) Friday. Dalibor Dvorsky had himself two great games picking up 2 points (1G-1A) in Thursday’s game and 2 points (1G-1A) in Friday’s matchup. Kocha Delic and Nolan Collins each had 2-points on the road in North Bay and David Goyette picked up 2-points during Friday’s home game, putting him in second place in the OHL scoring race.
The Mississauga Steelheads enter Sunday’s game 3rd in the Central Division and 5th in the Eastern Conference. The Steelheads are led by 2024 NHL Draft prospect Luke Misa, who leads the team in points with 57 (18G-39A) and right winger Porter Martone, who’s recorded 52 points (29 goals and 23 assists). The Steelheads have a strong goalie tandem of Ryerson Leenders and Jack Ivankovic, who are both ranked top 5 in the league for save percentage.
