Wolves Acquire Rights to Jacklin
(Greater Sudbury, ON) The Sudbury Wolves announce that they have acquired the rights to forward and Sudbury native Brett Jacklin from the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in exchange for a conditional 15th round draft pick in 2021.
Jacklin, 19, was selected in the 10th round of the 2016 OHL Priority Selection by the Greyhounds. He played two seasons in Sault Ste, Maire between 2017 and 2019. The 6’3”, 185lbs forward was playing this season with the Laurentian University Voyageurs (U Sports) picking up an impressive 13 points in 19 games.
“Brett had a strong season this year playing against men in U Sports,” said Sudbury Wolves VP & General Manager Rob Papineau. “He adds great depth to our organization. Brett has played just under 100 OHL games in his career, which will add very valuable experience to our team this year.”
Jacklin will suit up for the Wolves tonight as they host the North Bay Battalion at 7:05pm. Tonight’s game is sponsored by Booster Juice who will be on-hand with prizes for lucky fans. It’s Health Sciences North night and the Wolves will be wearing special physician-themed jerseys which will be auctioned off throughout the game with proceeds going towards the new MRI scanners at Health Sciences North.
