Sudbury Wolves set to Host Doubleheader Friday and Sunday
(GREATER SUDBURY, ON) The Sudbury Wolves return to the Den for a doubleheader this Friday and Sunday. The weekend starts off with the Erie Otters on Friday, January 19th, puck drop set for 7:05pm. The Wolves take on the Barrie Colts at 2:05pm on Undie Sunday.
With the trade deadline now in the rearview, the Wolves have added OHL Champion experience with the acquisition of two defencemen, Donovan McCoy from the Peterborough Petes and Noah Van Vliet from the Brantford Bulldogs. In addition to these two defenders, the Wolves acquired centre and Sudbury native Zacharie Giroux from the Flint Firebirds.
The Erie Otters enter this week seventh in the Western Conference. Offensively, the Otters are led by Pano Fimis, who’s recorded 44 points (12 goals and 32 assists) in 38 games. 2nd overall pick in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection Malcolm Spence has started his OHL career with a bang, tallying 38 points (10 goals and 28 assists) in 38 games. Overage goaltender Ben Gaudreau is currently second in the OHL for wins with 19, and top-10 for GAA with a 3.31.
Friday’s game is sponsored by Bell Let’s Talk who will be partnering with the Wolves to bring awareness to the stigma around mental health. Bell will be on-hand with gifts and giveaways for lucky fans and the first 1000 fans will receive a Bell Let’s Talk Toque. Fans are also encouraged to visit the Bell Let’s Talk table located in the lower lobby for more information. Tickets are very limited for Friday’s game only single game seats and standing room available.
The Lions Club will also be on hand collecting donations for fans to take part in an airplane toss during the second intermission for the chance to win a $500 Fire pit from City Welding. Visit their table in the lower concourse or at the top of section 2 for more information.
The Wolves are set to host the first ever Undie Sunday in Sudbury. The Wolves have partnered with Sudbury Outreach Support (SOS) to collect new undergarment donations to help those in need. Fans are encouraged to bring new and packaged undergarment donations to toss on the ice supporting SOS initiatives. Wolves will also be selling ‘undies’ during the game for fans to toss during an intermission. More details will be announced tomorrow.

Sunday also marks our second bilingual game of the season with a special performance by Chuck Labelle on the MIC Stage. It’s also the second last, Jr. Wolves Sunday of the season; fans are encouraged to bring their skates to join members of the Pack for a post-game skate.
