Wolves Host Exciting Doubleheader Weekend
(Greater Sudbury, ON) – The Sudbury Wolves are ready to defend the DEN this weekend as they take on a divisional rival, North Bay Battalion visiting Friday and the Ottawa 67’s on Sunday for their annual appearance. Friday’s game is set for a 7:05pm puck-drop while Sunday’s game is set for 2:05pm.
The Wolves are coming off a hard-fought 4-3 overtime victory against the Battalion last weekend, featuring an outstanding performance from Winnipeg Jets prospect Kieron Walton, who racked up four points with two goals and two assists. Goalie Nate Krawchuk also had a stellar night, making 43 saves. Meanwhile, Chase Coughlan has been on fire this season, averaging a point per game with seven goals and three assists.
Get ready for a fun twist this Friday—it’s Country Night, proudly sponsored by Pure Country 91.7! They’ll be on-site for an exciting second intermission where lucky fans can win fantastic prizes. We encourage everyone to come dressed in their country best to join in on the fun. YEEHOWL!
On Sunday, we’re thrilled to partner with Special Olympics Ontario to raise awareness for individuals with intellectual disabilities. We’ll honour Special Olympic gold medalists Danie Louise Houle, Lisa Fragomele, and James Ilves with a ceremonial puck drop before the game. Be sure to stop by the Special Olympics Ontario table in the lower concourse to learn more about their important work.
Additionally, Sunday marks our first Jr. Wolves Sunday and Jersey Day of the season! Prior to Sunday’s game the first 500 youth fans in attended will received a Sudbury Wolves practice jersey and after the game, fans can join members of the team for a post-game skate. Dressing Room one will be open for fans to lace up their skates, and everyone is welcome to sit on the team benches once the Zamboni finishes flooding the ice.
