Ali Commits to Wolves
The Sudbury Wolves are pleased to announce that 17-year-old defenceman CONOR ALI has made a commitment to play for the Sudbury Wolves Hockey Club. Ali was selected by the Wolves in the 3rd round of the 2015 OHL Priority Selection, 48th overall.
The 6’1, 180lbs Brampton native played for Team OMHA at the 2014/15 OHL Gold Cup where he won the bronze medal. He was also selected to attend the Hockey Canada Under-17 Final Evaluation Camp in Calgary, Alberta this past July where he competed with and against the top 16-year-old players in the country.
“We are very excited to have Conor Ali committed to the Sudbury Wolves Hockey Club,” said Sudbury Wolves General Manager Barclay Branch. “Conor is a talented young defenceman who is a big part of our exciting young nucleus and will be an important member of our group moving forward.”
Ali can be described as a smart, skilled two-way defenceman who is a fluid skater that loves to carry the puck and competes hard every shift. He has spent the 2015/2016 season playing for St. Andrew’s College where he also attends school. In 38 games with St. Andrew’s College, Ali compiled 4 goals and 23 assists for 27 points
