Timpano Wins Again
Wolves’ goaltender TROY TIMPANO recorded his second straight win at the World Challenge Cup in Nova Scotia today as TEAM ONTARIO defeated TEAM ATLANTIC 5-1. Timpano stopped 22 of 23 Shots that he faced and the Sudbury Wolves netminder picked up his second straight win of the Tournament. In the opening game of the tournament, Timpano played two periods of hockey in a 8-1 drubbing over TEAM GERMANY. Wolves’ defenceman KYLE CAPOBIANCO has been solid on the blueline for TEAM ONTARIO as the Wolves are well-represented at the international event.
DOMINIK KAHUN continues to lead the way for TEAM GERMANY at the WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS in Sweden. The 18-year-old forward leads TEAM GERMANY in scoring and picked-up a goal and an assist in a 3-0 victory over CZECH. KAHUN is garnering a lot of interest from NHL scouts in attendance as the 5’11” centreman is playing like a ‘man on a mission’ especially with the suspension to team captain LEON DRAISAITL who remains on the sidelines. KAHUN will rejoin his Sudbury Wolves teammates next week.
