Jack Thompson and Blake Murray Return Home
After joining Surahammars IF of the HockeyEttan League in Sweden in early 2021, Jack Thompson and Blake Murray have completed their loan and are heading back to Canada. While overseas, both Wolves were able to put up impressive numbers in Sweden’s Tier 3 hockey league.
Jack played 18 games where he scored nine goals and had nine helpers for a total of 18 points (9-9-18). While playing in Sweden, Jack recorded his first professional hat-trick on February 14th in a 4-1 win against Lindoven and had several other multi-point games. Jack finished 1st in goals by a defenceman and 2nd in points by a defenceman on the team. Jack ended in Sweden as a plus nine and was ranked 2nd best on the team for +/-.

Blake Murray suited up in 16 games and had seven goals and 16 assists (7-16-23). Blake was continuously able to find the scoresheet multiple times in a single game including four assists in a 5-2 win on February 28th. The Carolina Hurricanes prospect finished 3rd on the team for assists and 4th for points. Through 16 games, Blake was a plus eight which was 3rd best on the team.

With the help of Jack and Blake, Surahammars IF was able to break team history in February where they went on an eight-game win streak, beating the previous record of six games. Surhammars IF ended the season with a winning record of 11-5-2.
