Taking Guelph by Storm

The Sault Star
If all goes according to plan, Patrick Watling’s longtime goal is about to be realized.
The 17-year-old Sault Ste. Marie native expects to sign soon with the Ontario Hockey League’s Guelph Storm.
A 10th-round draft choice of the Storm in 2009, Watling was recently named to the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Western Conference first all-star team.
A playmaking centre with the Chatham Maroons Jr. B squad, Watling has been in discussions with Storm general manager Mike Kelly.
“He came to Chatham and met with me three weeks ago,” said Watling, whose Maroons are into the first round of the playoffs, facing the Strathroy Rockets.
“Guelph is losing a lot of players at the end of this year and they want me to be one of their top three centres next season.”
