Subway Super Series-The History-2005-2006
The Subway Super Series is coming to the Sleeman Centre! Game 3 will be played on Thursday November 8, 2012 at 7:00pm. This is the tenth year that regional teams of CHL All-Stars will compete against the Russian Junior Team as part of a six-game series. The History of the Super Series
2005
The third year of the Canada-Russia series was 2005 and it saw the CHL teams win all 6 games. Guillaume Latendresse powered Team QMJHL to the first two wins scoring a total of 5 goals in two games. Game one had a score of 7-4 while game two saw a 6-4 win for the QMJHL team. Team OHL took game three with a win of 5-2. Wojtek Wolski scored a hat trick and added an assist. Game four saw Liam Reddox score 2 goals in the 5-1 win over Russia. Devin Setoguchi scored 3 goals, including the game winner to see Team WHL with a 9-2 victory in game five. The final game in the series was 3-1 for Team WHL with Kyle Chipchura adding a goal and an assist.
2006
Team QMJHL started the 2006 series with a strong 6-2 win over the Russia Selects. Game two was a closer game with a score of 4-3 for the QMJHL Team. Marc-Andre Cliche had 2 goals and earned the player of the game award. Game three saw Team OHL with a shut out win of 5-0. Steve Mason had an exceptional game in net stopping 24 shots for the win of 4-3 in game four. Ty Wishart scored 2 goals to help the WHL with a 5-3 victory over the Russian Selects in game five. In game six, Brodie Dupont led with three goals and an assist to help Team WHL to an 8-1 win to finish the series with all six wins for the CHL.
