Storm prospects set for All-Star duel
The annual OJHL All-Star games take place on Wednesday night at the Canlan Sports Arena at York University and a pair of Storm picks will square off in the Junior All-Star game when Connor Tresham represents the MacKinnon/Phillips Division All-Stars and Carlos Amestoy skates on the Ruddock/Central squad.
In his second season in the league, Tresham has been nothing short of terrific helping the North York Rangers to a 24-11-2-6 record. Selected by the Storm in the fourth round of the 2007 OHL Priority Selection, Tresham leads the Rangers in goals (28), assists (37), points (65), powerplay goals (9), powerplay points (13) and game winning goals (6) in 43 games played. The 5-11 forward also ranks second on the club with 120 penalty minutes. Last season with the Rangers, Tresham finished with 33 points in 47 contests.
Amestoy makes his All-Star debut in his rookie campaign. The dynamic forward has 19 points in his first season with the Toronto Jr Canadiens including eight goals in 35 games. The Toronto native, who was selected by the Storm in the 8th round of the 2008 Priority Selection, has verbally committed to play and attend the University of Maine.
