Storm patch honours E.J. McGuire
The Guelph Storm has announced that they will honour former Head Coach EJ McGuire with a commemorative patch on both home and away jerseys throughout the 2011-12 season.
EJ passed away last April after a short battle with cancer. He was only 58.
Coaching the Storm for two seasons from 1995-96 and 1996-97, the native of Buffalo NY had a 80-41-11-0 record taking the Storm to the OHL finals in 1996 and the semi-finals in 1997.
The Storm will begin wearing the tribute displaying EJ’s initials when they kick off the 2011-12 season on Thursday, September 22nd in Windsor.
