Storm Banners Line Downtown Streets
July 31, 2014
GUELPH, ON – The Guelph Storm Hockey Club and the Downtown Guelph Business Association are pleased to announce the display of banners commemorating the Storm’s 2014 OHL Championship victory. 30 banners depicting Storm players and personnel will line Wyndham Street as the Storm prepare to kick off the 2014-15 OHL season.
“We are so proud of our OHL Champions, and wanted to honour them and the fantastic season they had,” said Marty Williams, Executive Director at the DGBA. “All of Guelph was cheering, and all of Guelph is looking forward to many more years of great Storm teams.”
The banners were put up earlier this week and will be proudly displayed until the end of October, when they will be taken down to make way for the city’s annual Remembrance Week celebrations.
Once the banners are taken down, the Downtown Guelph Business Association will be selling them to benefit local charities. Details of the sale will be released at a later date.
The Storm open the 2014-15 regular season on September 26th v. the Belleville Bulls at the Sleeman Centre.
