Richard and Swiss tangle with Sweden
Storm centre Tanner Richard and Switzerland will hit the ice again today at the IIHF Under-20 World Hockey Championship when they face Sweden in Calgary at 5:30 pm ET.
In their first game of the preliminary round, Switzerland came out on the losing end of a tight 3-0 decision versus Russia. Playing in his second World Junior Championship, the 18-year old Richard had two shots on goal in the contest while dominating the faceoff circle going 10 for 12 on draws.
On Friday Switzerland will face Latvia before wrapping up the round robin on Saturday versus Slovakia.
The Storm will honour Tanner Richard for his participation at the IIHF Under-20 World Hockey Championship on Friday, January 13th when they host the Windsor Spitfires along with forward Hunter Garlent who will represent Ontario at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge beginning December 29th in Windsor.
