Player of the Week
The Guelph Storm announced today that forward Cody McNaughton is the Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, December 11th.
The most consistent Storm player this week, Cody picked up three points (two goals and one assist) in three games and was a +2. On Friday against Barrie, the Petawawa native scored the third Storm goal of the night in the 8-5 loss to the Colts. Saturday in Owen Sound, the 19 year old netted his 13th of the season and the lone Storm goal of the night in the 6-1 loss. Sunday afternoon in the 2-1 overtime loss to the Knights, McNaughton set up Mitchell with a perfect cross ice pass for the first and only Storm tally of the game.
McNaughton currently sits third in Storm scoring with 28 points. He is third behind Zack Mitchell and Scott Kosmachuk for goals scored (13) and tied with Kosmachuk for the most powerplay markers with seven.
Next up, the Storm face a light week with only two contests after a string of three in threes. Friday night, in a rare away game from the Sleeman Centre, the Storm head to the John Labatt Centre in London for a rematch with the Knights. On Saturday night, back at home, The Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds enter the eye of the Storm in the final match before the Christmas break.
