We’re ready to kick off the Live Free Campaign for 2011!
Now in its 3rd year, the Live Free Campaign challenges schools, workplaces and individuals to give up something for one day for those in our community who are living without. By giving up your morning coffee and instead donating that $1.10 to the campaign, Food and Friends can provide a nutritious breakfast for a student that is too hungry to learn.
Over the last two years, the Guelph Storm has raised close to $2,500 towards the Campaign and we are ready to Live Free again for 2011.
By donating you are helping to ensure these children are well nourished and ready to learn, grow and succeed you knows, maybe even grow into Storm players!
Sarah Twigger, the Community Relations Coordinator for the team told us, “The Guelph Storm is such a great avenue to spread the word about the Live Free Campaign. We’re happy to help support these programs in any way we can- our players know the importance of a healthy breakfast.”
This year, Live Free day is March 4, 2011. All money raised through Live Free supports the 76 student nutrition programs in Guelph, Wellington and Dufferin County. For some children and youth, the food served in these programs is their only meal for the day. You can help support these children and youth – even the smallest sacrifice can make a difference!
