Who's up: Flint Firebirds - up one spot to #1 this week A new team at the top, and the Firebirds earned it three different ways. Flint built a 3-0 first-period lead in Saginaw on Friday, surrendered it, then won the shootout on Darian Anderson's winner, with Trenten Bennett stopping 35 of 38 while outshot 38-25. The rematch the next night was a 6-2 rout in which Anderson scored twice, including a shorthanded marker, and added two assists to reach nine goals, while Jimmy Lombardi collected three helpers. Sunday, Bennett blanked the ninth-ranked Soo Greyhounds 1-0 for his second career OHL shutout, Lombardi scoring the only goal on the power play at 4:24 of the first. At 9-2-1-0 with points in eight straight and 12 games played, tied for the fewest in the league, Flint owns the best points rate in the OHL. Kingston Frontenacs - up four spots to #3 this week The biggest riser of the week, and the Fronts did it by taking apart the team that was ranked third. Kingston beat Ottawa 4-2 on Friday behind two power-play goals from Adam Goljer and the winner from Nolan Snyder, going 3-for-6 with the man advantage while Royden Smith stopped 26 of 28. Sunday in Ottawa was a 6-1 answer to Spencer Bowes' early power-play goal, with Nolan Buttar scoring twice and Smith turning aside 38 of 39. Cole Zurawski and Landon Wright each added a goal and an assist. At 9-5-0-0 a club that had allowed the most goals in the league three weeks ago has now won four of five. Sudbury Wolves - up two spots to #4 this week Two wins from three, and a goaltender who kept the week afloat. Sudbury won 4-3 in North Bay on Thursday despite being outshot 40-28, Kash Kwajah getting the winner at 9:01 of the third and Paolo Frasca stopping 37 of 40, a result that ended a six-game slide against the Battalion dating back to Jan. 2, 2026. The rematch went the other way 5-3 the following night, where Finn Kearns scored his first OHL goal. Sunday in Oshawa the Wolves were outshot 46-30 and won anyway, 3-2 in a six-round shootout, Artem Gonchar scoring the only attempt on his 20th birthday after Kwajah converted a penalty shot with eight seconds left in the second. Frasca stopped 44 of 46 in that one, with an additional 6-for-6 showing in the shootout. Kitchener Rangers - up three spots to #8 this week The Rangers ended the longest winning streak in the league, and they have points in five straight. Kitchener beat Guelph 6-3 on Friday despite being outshot 37-26, snapping the Storm's nine-game run, with Luca Romano scoring twice and adding an assist and Cameron Arquette also scoring twice. Haeden Ellis potted the power-play winner and Jason Schaubel stopped 34 of 37. Sunday in Guelph the Rangers trailed 4-1, tied it at 18:51 of the third on Tanner Lam's second of the night, then lost 6-5 in overtime, Lam finishing with two goals and two assists. At 7-5-2-1 through a league-high 15 games, the defending Memorial Cup champions are really trending in the right direction. Sarnia Sting - up one spot to #11 this week The four-game losing streak is over, and it ended with the Sting's best 20 minutes of the season. Sarnia trailed London 4-2 on Wednesday before scoring four unanswered goals, three of them on the power play, to win 6-4 while outshooting the Knights 31-20. Logan Hawery scored twice in the third including the power-play winner, and Easton Walos recorded four assists. The rematch in London on Friday went 6-4 the other way, with Kaden Aucoin, Jack Van Volsen, Simon Katolicky and Tyler Challenger scoring and Walos adding two more helpers. At 6-7-1-0 Sarnia splits the week against a higher-ranked foe and climbs a spot. Erie Otters - up one spot to #12 this week Five of a possible six points on the weekend, and the dynamic duo of Michael Dec and Mclean Agrette was a big reason. Erie forced overtime in Niagara on Friday on Broden McArthur's goal at 16:59 of the third before losing 4-3, then handled the 16th-ranked IceDogs 5-2 on Saturday with Dec recording a hat trick and the Otters outshooting Niagara 51-36. Sunday in Brampton was another 5-2 win in which Agrette scored twice and added two assists, and Dec broke a 2-2 tie at 11:26 of the second. Luka Arkko scored in both wins and Liam Karbowski stopped 27 of 29 on Sunday. Dec now has seven goals on the season, five of them inside two days. North Bay Battalion - up two spots to #13 this week Two wins to close the week, and Parker Vaughan drove both of them. North Bay lost 4-3 at home to Sudbury on Thursday despite outshooting the Wolves 40-28, a third straight defeat at the time, then took the rematch 5-3 in Sudbury on Friday. Vaughan scored twice in the rematch, netting the winner at 10:53 of the third before tacking-on a penalty-shot goal, and adding an assist. Saturday in Barrie was a 7-4 win in which Vaughan got the winner 2:48 into the third and two more assists, giving him six points in two nights. Evgeny Dubrovtsev scored twice on Saturday to reach 11 on the season and Cam Warren posted three helpers. At 6-8-0-0 the Troops have won two in a row after a three-game slide. Owen Sound Attack - up one spot to #15 this week Points in four straight games, and things are suddenly looking up for the Attack. Owen Sound took a point in Barrie on Thursday, Jake Crawford forcing overtime with 1:48 left before a 4-3 loss, with Lucian Bernat and Max Fransen each scoring their first OHL goal. Saturday brought a 5-1 win over the seventh-ranked London Knights built on four third-period goals, Harry Nansi potting the power-play winner 2:36 in and Adrian Manzo scoring his first as an Attack. Sunday was a 5-4 overtime win over Barrie in which Crawford tied it with 52 seconds left in regulation and Bernat won it with one second to spare, while Pierce Mbuyi scored twice to reach 10. Ryerson Leenders picked up his 99th career win, and at 5-8-1-0 Owen Sound has climbed off the floor. Who's down: Guelph Storm - down one spot to #2 this week The nine-game winning streak is over, and the top spot goes with it. Guelph was beaten 6-3 in Kitchener on Friday for its first loss since Sept. 19, with Tyler Hopkins scoring 26 seconds in and a shorthanded Ryan Roobroeck also finding the net while the Storm outshot the Rangers 37-26. Sunday needed overtime: Guelph built a 4-1 lead on shorthanded goals from Roobroeck and Jaakko Wycisk nine seconds apart, watched Kitchener tie it at 18:51 of the third, and won 6-5 on Roobroeck's hat-trick goal at 2:39 of the extra period, his 12th of the season. At 10-3-0-0 this is a one-spot acknowledgment that Flint has points in eight straight, not a verdict on Guelph. Brantford Bulldogs - down one spot to #5 this week Still the most points in the league, and still a split with the club at the bottom of it. Kaden McGregor scored four power-play goals in Brampton on Friday, three of them in a first-period hat trick, as Brantford went 4-for-8 on the man advantage in an 8-2 win. Jason Musa added four assists before leaving the game with an injury, Abe Barnett and Owen DeGraff each scored their first OHL goal, and Chase Petrova stopped 31 of 33. The Steelheads returned it the next night in Brantford, 4-2, on Stepan Kuryachenkov's power-play winner 8:26 into the third, ending a three-game Bulldogs run. At 10-3-0-1 with 21 points Brantford still leads the league, but a home loss to a club that had won once all season is the kind of night that costs a spot. Ottawa 67's - down three spots to #6 this week Two games, two losses, and both came against the same rival. Ottawa was beaten 4-2 in Kingston on Friday, where the Frontenacs went 3-for-6 on the power play and ended the 67's four-game winning streak. Spencer Bowes and Filip Ekberg each had a goal and an assist, and Jaeden Nelson stopped 25 of 29. Sunday at home was heavier: the Barber Poles outshot Kingston 39-26 and lost 6-1, conceding six straight after Bowes' early power-play goal. At 7-3-2-0 the seven-game point streak is finished, and being outscored 10-3 by the now-third-ranked Frontenacs in three days is what the drop reflects. London Knights - down two spots to #7 this week One win in three, and the Knights gave away leads at both ends of the week. London led Sarnia 4-2 on Wednesday before conceding four unanswered in a 6-4 loss, outshot 31-20, with Ryan Brown scoring twice and Cody Wood getting his first OHL goal. The rematch at home on Friday was better: Thomas Zocco and Cohen Bidgood each scored twice and added an assist, Zocco's second at 4:37 of the third standing as the winner, and Kane Barch scored his first OHL goal. Saturday in Owen Sound was a 5-1 loss in which the 15th-ranked Attack scored four times in the final frame. At 8-3-0-1 London's record is still among the best in the league, but two losses to clubs below it is a hard week to defend. Soo Greyhounds - down one spot to #9 this week One win in three, and the Hounds finished the week without a goal. The Soo rallied past Windsor 5-4 in overtime on Thursday, Callum Croskery scoring twice including the winner 2:58 in after Jakub Winkelhofer tied it with 4:13 left. The rematch in Windsor on Saturday was crueller: the Soo erased a 3-0 deficit on goals from Colin Fitzgerald, Noah Laus and Trevor Daley Jr., then conceded a power-play goal with less than one second left in regulation. Sunday in Flint was a 1-0 shutout loss, David Vermirovsky stopping 32 of 33 in a losing cause. At 9-4-1-0 the Hounds have dropped two straight and have been passed by a club they were ahead of a week ago. Saginaw Spirit - down one spot to #10 this week A single point from two games against the new top-ranked team, and the Spirit are winless in three. Saginaw trailed Flint 3-0 at home on Friday and came all the way back on goals from Jacob Cloutier, Braidy Wassilyn and Brody George's first OHL marker before losing the shootout 4-3. The next night in Flint was a 6-2 defeat, with Wassilyn and Brody Pepoy replying. Saginaw outshot the Firebirds in both games, 38-25 and 29-23, and lost them both. Dima Zhilkin extended his point streak to 13 games but saw a seven-game goal-scoring streak end, and at 6-4-2-1 the Spirit slide a spot. Peterborough Petes - down four spots to #14 this week The week's biggest faller, and a home-and-home that went from high to flat. Peterborough erased a 4-2 deficit against Oshawa on Thursday and won 5-4 on Aiden Young's solo effort 2:56 into overtime for a third straight victory, with Camron Hankai's first as a Pete tying it at 6:21 of the third and Matthew Koprowski stopping 28 of 32. Friday in Oshawa was a 5-0 shutout loss that ended the winning streak, Oshawa's Matthew Humphries turning aside all 30 shots for his first career OHL shutout. At 6-8-0-0 the Petes are back where their record would tend to indicate they belong. Niagara IceDogs - down two spots to #16 this week A split with Erie, and the IceDogs come out of it two spots lower. Niagara won 4-3 in overtime on Friday, Joey Banas scoring twice including the winner 2:30 into the extra period, with Callum Cheynowski picking up two assists in his 200th OHL contest and Vladislav Yermolenko stopping 23 of 26. Saturday in Erie was a 5-2 loss in which the Otters piled up 51 shots and Connor Haffner stopped 46, the second time in eight days he has faced 50. Finn Merrill scored his first career OHL goal on a breakaway and Ryerson Edgar added a power-play marker. The Highway 7 Rivalry between the Kitchener Rangers and Guelph Storm brings two passionate hockey communities together each regular season. For 2026–2027, the clubs are building on that tradition with a new trophy, retro jerseys and a shared commitment to supporting Canadian Mental Health Association Waterloo Wellington (CMHA WW). “Having the Highway 7 Rivalry launch alongside nine other huge rivalry weekends across the OHL makes for an awesome spectacle for fans everywhere,” said Guelph Storm Vice President of Business Operations Matt Newby, “Whenever the Rangers visit, the Sleeman Centre is buzzing, and putting a new trophy on the line makes every game that much bigger. But what we’re most excited about is our collaborative focus off the ice. Teaming up with Kitchener and CMHA Waterloo Wellington allows us to direct all that passion toward raising crucial funds and awareness for mental health across our communities.” The winner of the eight-game regular season series will have its name engraved on a new trophy featuring design elements representing both clubs. If the series is tied after eight games, the team with the greater goal differential in those matchups will be awarded the trophy. “Rivalry Week is always something our fans look forward to, but this year we have an opportunity to make it about something bigger than what happens on the ice,” said Joe Birch, Chief Operating Officer and Governor of the Kitchener Rangers. “The Rangers and Storm may be rivals, but we share a responsibility to use our platforms and resources to make a positive impact. We’re proud to come together in support of CMHA Waterloo Wellington and help raise awareness and funds for the important mental health programs and services they provide across our region.” Both organizations have longstanding relationships with CMHA WW through the league’s Talk Today program, charitable events, sponsored games and other initiatives. Launched in October 2014, Talk Today is a comprehensive mental health and suicide prevention program. The Rangers and Storm will also celebrate their histories throughout the series by wearing retro jerseys. Kitchener unveiled its retro Tex jerseys on September 27, bringing back one of the most recognizable looks in Rangers history. Guelph will debut its retro jerseys on Friday, October 23. At the conclusion of the 2026–2027 regular season, each club will auction seven select jerseys worn during the Highway 7 Rivalry, giving fans the opportunity to own a piece of the series while supporting mental health in the region. Proceeds from both auctions will benefit CMHA WW, with the Rangers’ contribution made through Rangers Reach, the Kitchener Rangers Community Fund. In addition to the jersey auctions, each club has pledged to donate $50 for every goal scored by its opponent during the eight-game series. For every Guelph goal, the Rangers will contribute $50 through Rangers Reach to CMHA WW, with the Storm donating $50 to CMHA WW for every Kitchener goal. Saturday at home to Oshawa took longer: Spencer Bowes tied it with 4:55 remaining and buried the winner 1:12 into overtime for his ninth of the season. Brock Chitaroni extended his point streak to nine games as the 67's outshot the Generals 35-24. At 7-1-2-0 Ottawa has been beaten once in regulation all season. Brantford Bulldogs - up one spot to #4 this week The league's best record, and a week built on goaltending. Vilmer Salen Forsberg made 25 saves for his first career OHL shutout in a 1-0 win over Barrie on Friday, Xavier Lieb scoring the only goal 13:32 into the first period to snap a three-game Bulldogs slide. Sunday was the louder statement: Brantford handled the eighth-ranked Soo Greyhounds 5-2 despite being outshot 44-34, with Salen Forsberg turning aside 42. Cullen McCrate scored twice from the back end, while Aiden Kelly and Jason Musa each finished with a goal and an assist. At 9-2-0-1 the Bulldogs lead the league in points and have won two in a row. London Knights - up one spot to #5 this week The best week in the league, and nobody else went 3-0. London snapped a two-game slide with a 4-3 shootout win in Kitchener on Tuesday, then handed the Sudbury Wolves their first regulation loss of the season 4-1 on Friday, with Marcus Nordmark and Jaxon Cover each collecting a goal and two assists. Saturday in Erie was a 7-1 rout in which Carson Harmer and Cover both scored twice, Ryan Brown put up four assists, and the Knights went 2-for-2 on the power play while outshooting the Otters 40-29. The Petes dropped the Thanksgiving Monday opener 3-1 in North Bay, then took the rematch 4-2 three nights later behind four different scorers. Saturday brought a 6-0 shutout of Barrie in which Adam Novotny recorded a hat trick and five points, Cooper Dennis added two goals and two assists, and Yanis Lutz collected three helpers. Matthew Koprowski stopped all 22 shots for his second career OHL shutout, and Braydon McCallum drew an assist in his 200th OHL game. At 5-7-0-0 the Petes have won three of five. Kitchener Rangers - up two spots to #11 this week The slide is over, and the defending Memorial Cup champions have won two in a row. Kitchener lost a fifth straight on Tuesday, 4-3 in a shootout to London, before Cameron Arquette scored twice to beat the 14th-ranked Niagara IceDogs 5-2 on Friday, where Jiří Gombár's first career OHL goal stood as the winner. Sunday in Oshawa was a 2-1 win on goals from Jack LaBrash and Tanner Lam. Jason Schaubel won both, stopping 21 of 23 and then 21 of 22. At 6-5-1-1 through a league-high 13 games, the Rangers have taken points in eight of them. Niagara IceDogs - up two spots to #14 this week A week that ended with an impressive goaltending performance. Niagara forced overtime against the Soo on Thursday on third-period goals from Reyth Smith and Ivan Galiyanov before losing 5-4, then was beaten 5-2 in Kitchener, where Ryerson Edgar scored both goals on the power play. Sunday in North Bay the IceDogs were outshot 50-22 and won anyway, 5-4, with Connor Haffner taking first-star honours on 46 saves. Wil McFadden scored his first two goals as an IceDog, and Edgar and Smith each finished with a goal and an assist. At 6-4-1-0 the club picked 19th in the preseason poll has won three of its last five. Who's down: Sudbury Wolves - down four spots to #6 this week The unbeaten run is over, and it ended with a pair of road losses. Sudbury opened with a 6-2 win in Windsor in which Jean-Cristoph Lemieux buried a hat trick against his former team to reach nine goals and Bjorn Bronas made 29 saves in his season debut. Friday in London brought the Wolves' first regulation loss of the season, 4-1, with Adam Nemec scoring the lone goal. Sunday in Guelph they led 2-0 before surrendering five unanswered, four of them in the third, in a 5-2 defeat. At 7-2-1-0 Sudbury remains firmly in the top tier, but a club that opened 7-0-1-0 has now lost two in a row to the teams directly around it in the power rankings. Sarnia Sting - down two spots to #12 this week A winless week, and the goals against piled up in a hurry. Sarnia lost 5-2 to Guelph on Wednesday, with Cole Emerton collecting a goal and an assist, then was beaten 9-2 and 7-4 by the ninth-ranked Saginaw Spirit on consecutive nights. The Sting were outshot 49-22 in the first of those and surrendered 16 goals across the two. Easton Walos reached double digits with his 10th of the season and Jonas Gulbrandsen scored his first career OHL goal in Saturday's loss. At 5-6-1-0 Sarnia has dropped four straight, looking to turn things around against London during Rivalry Week. Erie Otters - down one spot to #13 this week Two home games, two losses. Erie was beaten 3-1 by the Soo on Friday despite 36 saves on 38 shots from David Egorov, the Hounds capping it with an empty-netter. Saturday was heavier, a 7-1 defeat to the fifth-ranked London Knights in which the Otters were outshot 40-29. Liam Beamish scored the only Erie goal. At 5-5-1-0 with a minus-12 goal differential, the Otters have given back the ground they picked up a week ago. North Bay Battalion - down one spot to #15 this week Three first-period goals on Thanksgiving Monday, and not a great deal after that. North Bay beat Peterborough 3-1 to open the week on markers from Cam Warren, Evgeny Dubrovtsev and Ryder Carey, with Mike McIvor stopping 26 of 27. The Petes took the rematch 4-2, though Dubrovtsev extended his point streak to a league-high nine games. Sunday was the cruel one: the Troops outshot Niagara 50-22 and lost 5-4, running into 46 saves from Connor Haffner. At 4-7-0-0 the shot totals keep saying one thing and the results another, which is becoming a frustrating trend for the Troops, who have only been outshot once. Owen Sound Attack - down one spot to #16 this week The Attack hold the final spot, and Sunday is the reason. Owen Sound was buried 11-3 in Windsor on Friday, surrendering double-digit goals for a second straight game, then lost 3-2 in Flint where Pierce Mbuyi scored both goals to reach eight on the season. Sunday in Saginaw salvaged the week: Ryerson Leenders stopped 33 of 34, Alexander Lisi's first career OHL goal stood as the winner, and the Attack knocked off a Spirit club that had won five in a row. At 3-8-0-0 that Sunday result is what keeps Owen Sound on this list, with Windsor knocking on the door. Holding steady: Guelph Storm - holds at #1 this week Nine in a row, and the top spot is not in question. Guelph won 5-2 in Sarnia on Wednesday with Ryan Roobroeck scoring 21 seconds in and Tyler Hopkins capping it at the final buzzer, then needed just 16 seconds of overtime to get past Flint on Owen Griffin's winner. Sunday the Storm spotted the sixth-ranked Sudbury Wolves a 2-0 lead and answered with five unanswered goals, four of them in the third, while outshooting them 31-20. The winning streak is Guelph's longest since a 10-game run in October and November of 2013. Kingston Frontenacs - holds at #7 this week A split that nets out to no movement. Kingston made it four straight on Friday against Oshawa, where Nolan Snyder scored twice including the winner 1:51 into overtime and added an assist, and Cole Zurawski tied it 4-4 with his first goal as a Frontenac. The streak ended the next night in Cornwall, a 5-2 loss that handed Brampton its first win of the season. At 7-5-0-0 through 12 games, the Fronts stay where they were. Soo Greyhounds - holds at #8 this week Two road wins, and then the first real setback in a month. Travis Hayes won it 51 seconds into overtime in Niagara on Thursday, and Colin Fitzgerald scored twice in that one before adding two assists the next night in Erie, where Trevor Daley Jr. and Brady Smith scored third-period goals in a 3-1 win. Sunday in Brantford ended an eight-game point streak, the Hounds falling 5-2 despite a 44-34 shot advantage. At 8-2-1-0 the two wins offset the finish and the Soo stay put. Saginaw Spirit - holds at #9 this week Three wins, 19 goals, and then the one that got away. Saginaw took a shootout in Windsor on Thanksgiving Monday before burying Sarnia 9-2 and 7-4 on consecutive nights, with Brody Pepoy recording a hat trick in the first of those and Levi Harper putting up two goals and two assists from the blue line in the second. Dima Zhilkin leads the OHL with 12 goals after scoring in all four games. A 27-save performance from Zach Jovanovski (1.20 GAA and .952 save percentage) and multi-point outings from Ryan Roobroeck (2G-2A) and Vladimir Dravecky (1G-4A) led the way in Sarnia in Wednesday’s 5-2 win, before Owen Griffin (2G-1A) was the overtime hero in their Friday-night matchup against Flint. Then the Storm came back from an early two-goal deficit against Sudbury to win 5-2 for a perfect 3-0 week. A balanced attack (10 scorers on 13 goals) that also included two goals from Tyler Hopkins and three assists from Ethan Czata led them on the offensive side, while their goaltending stood tall again, with Jovanovski and Ben Hrebik (2.50 GAA and .908 save percentage) combining to stop 67 of 73 shots on the week. London Knights (OHL) With three wins in three games last week, London (7-1-0-1) has now collected points in four straight and in eight of nine games to lead the OHL in points percentage. Tuesday’s win at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium required shootout heroics from Marcus Nordmark (2G-4A) and Thomas Zocco (3A) for the Knights to pull off a 4-3 win, then the Knights returned home for a 4-1 win over Sudbury in which Nordmark led the way again with three points. Sunday’s 7-1 win over Erie saw two goals apiece from Carson Harmer (3G) and Jaxon Cover (3G-3A) and a four-assist performance from Dallas Stars prospect Ryan Brown (5A). With four points each over three games, Cohen Bidgood (2G-2A) and Cooper McAslan (1G-3A) each had strong weekends themselves. Chase Harrington (3G-4A) had a hat trick and five points against Everett, while Owen Martin (4G-2A) had a pair of goals and four points, and Parker Colmer (1G) and Matěj Tománek (1G-1A) each scored their first WHL goals. Saturday’s game in Seattle saw two more goals from Martin and two more assists from Harrington, then Tyus Sparks (3A) scored the only shootout goal between 10 combined shooters on both teams to clinch the victory. Carter Esler (1.53 GAA and .941 save percentage) stopped 58 of 61 shots and all five Thunderbirds in Saturday’s shootout in two wins. The Chiefs will host Portland in back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday – their second time playing the Winterhawks twice in two days this season – after sweeping this season’s first edition in early October. Val-d’Or Foreurs (QMJHL) Riding a six-game winning streak and leading the QMJHL, the Foreurs (10-1-1-0) make their season debut in the top 10 this week. A road trip out east last week that included four games – two against teams that have appeared in the top 10 this year – could’ve spelt trouble for the Foreurs, but instead they collected all eight possible points to put them five points clear of Sherbrooke for top spot in the QMJHL’s western conference. They started the week with a 10-0 statement win in Charlottetown that featured Vincent Moreau’s first QMJHL shutout, Jordan Labelle’s first QMJHL hat trick, four points from QMJHL points leader Phillippe Veilleux (4G-4A) and three-point nights from Anthony Paré (1G-3A), Benjamin Cosette Ayotte (3A), Nathan Brisson (4A) and Gabriel Provencher (1G-3A). After scoring twice against the Islanders, QMJHL goal-scoring leader Maxime Sauthier (4G-2A) had three points and one of two shootout goals in Friday’s 4-3 shootout win in Halifax, then Veilleux’s third goal of the weekend gave the Foreurs a 2-1 lead that they never looked back from with less than seven minutes to go in Moncton. In three wins, Moreau (1.83 GAA and .933 save percentage) stopped 67 of 69 shots, with Arseni Radkov (2.32 GAA and .913 save percentage) stopping 33 of 34 shots in Sunday’s win. In the first half of the Seaway Shootout in Cornwall on Friday, the 67’s rallied twice from two first-period deficits to defeat the Steelheads 6-2. Ondrej Ruml’s (2G-1A) second goal of the night wound up being the game winner, while Andrew Laurin (1G-1A) and Nic Whitehead (1G-1A) each had two points. Returning home on Saturday to face Oshawa, Spencer Bowes (3G) scored with five minutes left to tie the game and then scored the overtime winner just over a minute into the extra frame. Noah LaGambina stopped 23 of 25 shots in Cornwall on Friday, while Jaeden Nelson (2.24 GAA and .924 save percentage) stopped 22 of 24 on Saturday to put him into a tie for the OHL wins lead with six. Cole Prelusky (3.09 GAA and .902 save percentage) stopped 28 of 30 shots in Lethbridge, while 2027 NHL draft-eligible Ludovic Perreault (2G-1A) had a goal and an assist to lead the way offensively. Two nights later, Perreault scored again while Cameron Schmidt (1G-3A) and Miles Cooper (1G-3A) each had two points in a 9-4 loss to Red Deer. 2024 8^th overall WHL Prospects Draft selection Jacob Schwartz had his first goal of the year to go along with an assist in Sunday’s narrow defeat to Edmonton. Following up a tough finish to the road trip, the Royals will host Kelowna in back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday night as they look to get back into the win column. Brandon Wheat Kings (WHL) The Wheat Kings (8-3-0-0) saw their five-game winning streak snapped by Medicine Hat on Saturday but bounced back the next day with a 5-4 overtime win against Prince Albert to hold onto the top spot in the WHL’s eastern conference. Kris Muissu (1G-1A) had Brandon’s only goal in their 8-1 loss to the Tigers, then assisted on the game-tying goal in their comeback victory against the Raiders. Jaxon Jacobson’s hat trick led the way back for the Wheat Kings, while Cruz Jim’s first goal of the season was the deciding factor just over a minute into overtime. A trio of assists on the weekend from Chase Surkan (3A) kept his hot start going, while Joby Baumuller’s (1G-1A) team-leading seventh goal contributed to the Wheat Kings three-goal third period against Prince Albert to send the game to overtime.
