Beck returns with all cylinders firing
By Tony Saxon, Guelph Mercury – Following a league-imposed three-game holiday, Guelph Storm sniper Taylor Beck is back with a vengeance.
Suspended for three games earlier this month for a spearing incident in Kitchener, Beck has returned to the lineup with all cylinders firing.
He turned in a five-point performance Friday night in a 7-4 win over the Barrie Colts at the Sleeman Centre, four days after a six-point outing against the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.
“I’d say in the last two games I’ve found my stride,” the 19-year-old Niagara Falls native said. “I’m having a lot of puck luck and I’ve got a fair bit of confidence right now.”
Beck now has 38 goals and 83 points on the season — good enough for sixth place in the league scoring race.
