Storm honoured as Community Spirit recipient at Guelph Awards of Excellence Gala
On June 28, the Guelph Chamber of Commerce joined leaders in business, government and community to celebrate the achievements of outstanding local businesses, organizations and individuals at the Guelph Awards of Excellence Gala.
Among the recipients of this year’s 2018 Chamber Business Awards was the Guelph Storm, honoured with the Community Spirit Award in partnership with Bell Canada. Habitat for Humanity Wellington-Dufferin and Trillium West were also nominated for the award. The Community Spirit Finalists nomination video can be viewed below.
With Lena DeMarco from Bell Canada presenting the award, Storm governor Rick Gaetz accepted the honour on behalf of the organization, as the team’s efforts were recognized with the following slide:
Since 1991, the Guelph Storm
Hockey Club has been a community leader and a community builder. Their spirit of giving and community support is evident through every level of the organization. Together with their fans, this season alone saw over $200,000 raised benefitting over 20 organizations.
Recipients of this year’s 2018 Chamber Business Awards were selected from a robust list of finalists and nominees from across Guelph.
