Storm acquire Liam Herbst from Ottawa 67’s

Guelph Storm General Manager Mike Kelly announced today that the Storm have acquired goaltender Liam Herbst from the Ottawa 67’s in exchange for a 4^th round pick in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection.

Drafted by the London Knights in the 1^st round, 22^nd overall, of the 2012 OHL Priority Selection, Herbst was sidelined due to injuries that required surgery and did not play in the 2012-13 season. He suited up for two games with the Knights in 2013-14 before being traded to the 67’s at the trade deadline in 2014.

“We are very excited to be able to add Liam to our 2016-17 roster,” GM Mike Kelly said. “Liam is a goalie that we have coveted since his draft year and we feel that he will provide us with outstanding goaltending and leadership‎. We welcome Liam and his family to the city of Guelph and the Storm organization.”

In 2014-15, Herbst played a career high 39 games with the 67’s putting up an impressive 24-8-3-1 record, a save percentage of 0.901 and a goals against average of 2.76.
