Milestone Moments: Oct. 7/17

A pair of York-Simcoe Express alumni scored their first career OHL goals on Saturday as Cam Hillis of the Guelph Storm and William Sirman of the Windsor Spitfires both got on the scoresheet. Here’s a look at those milestone moments from Saturday.

CAM HILLIS (GUELPH STORM):
It was an empty-netter and a hard-earned one at that. Guelph Storm rookie Cam Hillis put the finishing touches on a 5-2 win over the Kitchener Rangers on Saturday, scoring from his knees after being tripped up by the stick of an opposing defenceman. Hillis’ goal gives him four points (1-3–4) through his first six OHL contests. The 17-year-old from Enniskillen, Ont. was Guelph’s second round pick in the 2016 OHL Priority Selection after he captained the York-Simcoe Express to an OHL Cup title.

WILLIAM SIRMAN (WINDSOR SPITFIRES):
An otherwise disappointing night for the Windsor Spitfires did feature a silver lining on Saturday as 17-year-old winger William Sirman netted his first OHL goal in a 9-2 loss in Owen Sound. Sirman scored 6:30 into the third period, catching Attack goaltender Zack Bowman between movements to slip a low shot through his legs with an assist from Kirill Kozhevnikov. Sirman has persevered after being Windsor’s 14th round pick in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection.
