Meet the 2025-26 Guelph Storm by Tony Saxon
The new look Guelph Storm hits the ice tonight, opening at home against the Erie Otters at the Sleeman Centre.
A team that finished dead last in the Western Conference is definitely a bigger, more experienced group than a year go. Whether their better remains to be seen.
“I see it as a different team than last year. We skate well overall and we’re bigger, that’s for sure,” said Storm general manager George Burnett.
“We had a big camp for a reason, you hope one or two guys can impress you and help your team, and that happened.”
Free agent forward Chris Soares, a 19-year-old former Sarnia pick, made the team. As did three forwards from this year’s draft, although one of those is 18.
For the second year in a row, star centre Jett Luchanko’s return is up in the air as he could make the Philadelphia Flyers, at least to start the season.
