Herbst Named Player of the Week
The Guelph Storm announced today that goaltender Liam Herbst is the Player of the Week for the week ending January 22, 2017, earning the honours for the second time this season.
Herbst started in all four of the Storm’s game this week, kicking it off with a 24 save performance in a 5-1 win over the Niagara IceDogs, last Tuesday. He then followed that up with 34 saves in a tough 3-2 loss to the IceDogs. But the Etobicoke, Ontario native quickly bounced back with a 32 save, 3-2 win over Highway Seven rivals, the Kitchener Rangers, and then concluded the week with a massive 37 save, 4-2 win over the Windsor Spitfires.
In his four stars, the overage netminder posted a 2.01 goals against average and a save percentage of 0.941.
This season, in 33 games played, Herbst has a record of 11-15-2-1, a 3.48 goals against average and a 0.900 save percentage.
Next, the Storm return home to host the Oshawa Generals at the Gleeman Centre on Friday for a 7:30 pm puck drop.
