Goaltender Jacob Oster commits to Storm
Guelph, ON – Storm General Manager & Head Coach George Burnett announced today that the team has received a commitment from goaltender Jacob Oster. The 6’3, 187 lbs goaltender was drafted in the 5th round, 92nd overall in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection.
“Jacob was among the top goalies in his age group when we selected him in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection,” said GM and Head Coach George Burnett. “Despite the challenges that all players have endured during the past 18 months, Jacob has continued to progress and has positioned himself to challenge for a role with the Storm. Jacob has excellent size, skating, is very athletic and has improved each day throughout camp.”
Oster, the 2004-born goaltender from Ottawa, was selected by the Storm in the 5th round, 92nd overall in the 2020 OHL Priority Selection. In 2019-20, Oster registered 15 wins, 6 losses and a shutout with the U18 Kemptville 73’s AAA team. He ended the season with a 2.65 GAA and 0.909 save percentage. During the 2020-21 exhibition season with Kemptville, Oster put up a 3-0-0 record with one shut out, registering a 0.66 GAA and a 0.974 save percentage.
