Game Preview: Storm Vs. Attack, Sept 28th at 7:30pm
The Storm welcome the Owen Sound Attack to the Sleeman Centre this Friday at 7:30pm as they look to continue their strong play from last season’s match-ups. The Storm had the Attack’s number last season posting a 5-2-1 record led by Isaac Ratcliffe who had 12 points in the season series. Rookie Cam Hillis added 5 assists and Barret Kirwin along with Liam Hawel added 5 goals each. After tonight, the Storm and Attack will face off against each other Friday October 12th at the Sleeman Centre. These two teams will face off against each other eight times over the course of the season.

Owen Sound Attack
The Owen Sound Attack had an impressive 2017-2018 season as they finished 4th in the Western Conference during the regular season. They returned back to the playoffs and swept the London Knights in the opening round, before they lost a tough 7 game series against the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.
The Attack will look to continue another strong campaign this season with a strong lineup that features multiple NHL drafted players. They will also look to continue their strong special teams as their Powerplay finished 8th in the league and their Penalty kill finished 7th.
Owen Sound have added a few new players to their roster this season, acquiring Carter Robertson, Kaleb Pearson and Nathan Torchia in trades. Owen Sound have a few newly drafted players on their teams roster this season including defenceman Nolan Seed (1st Round, 15th Overall) in the 2018 OHL Draft, Right Winger Manuel Alberg (45th Overall) in the 2018 Import Draft and centre Griffin Wilson (1st Round, 15th Overall) in the OHL U18 Draft.

This game will feature 13 players that have been drafted to the NHL. The Guelph Storm have 7 NHL drafted players that include Ryan Merkley (SJ – 1st Round), Cam Hillis (MTL, 3rd Round), Isaac Ratcliffe (PHI, 2nd Round), Nate Schnarr (ARI, 3rd Round), Dmitri Samorukov (EDM 3rd Round), Liam Hawell (DAL – 4th Round) and Alexey Toropchenko (STL – 4th Round).
Owen Sound has 6 players that have been drafted to the NHL including Sean Durzi (TOR – 2nd Round), Trenton Bourque (STL – 6th Round), Markus Philips (LA – 4th Round), Nick Suzuki (VGK – 1st Round – Traded to MTL), Aidan Dudas (LA – 4th Round), Maksim Sushko (PHI – 4th Round).
Owen Sound’s Nick Suzuki is coming off a career high 100 point season which saw him eclipse the 40 goal mark for the second consecutive yera. Drafted by the Vegas Golden Knights and recently traded to the Montreal Canadiens, Suzuki is entering his 4th OHL season and is looking to improve his overall game for the Attack this year.
Tag Bertuzzi had a great pre-season with the Storm and is looking to continue his strong play going into his sophomore season. After a tough rookie year battling through multiple injuries , he is entering his sophomore season determined to show his true skill and is looking to have a great breakout season in his NHL draft year.
