Fashion Lighting Player Spotlight: Braeden Bowman
Born in Kitchener, Ont., nine-teen-year-old Braeden Bowman was drafted by the Storm 96th overall in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection. The 6’2, 195 lbs. right-handed right wing had an impressive 2021-2022 season registering 27 goals and 10 assists for 37 points in 60 games. So far this season, Braeden has recorded 15 goals and 12 assists for 27 points in 27 games played. Braeden recorded 10 of those points through the last 5 games played.
Q: When and how did you become involved in hockey?
A: “When I was three years old my dad took me out to skate and I have been in love with the game ever since then.”
Q: How has your experience in Guelph been this year, compared to last year?
A: “It’s a little bit different. Last year I came in really only knowing a couple of guys on the team. We were all so new to each other. Then this year it’s been way easier to come back and get in a rhythm together.”
Q: How was your time at San Joses camp?
A: “It was good, it was really fun, but it was a tough camp. It was a real eye-opener for me to see how hard it is and what you have to do every day to be a pro.”
Q: What’s a piece of advice you’d give to someone pursuing an OHL career?
A: “Cherish every moment you have with your friends. It goes by super fast. It feels like yesterday I was playing in my first OHL game, and now I will be an overage player next season. It goes by really fast, don’t ever take it for granted, and cherish all the memories.”
