Details released for exhibition game in Ayr
GUELPH, ON – The Guelph Storm Hockey Club is pleased to announce that the home exhibition game between the Storm and the Kitchener Rangers scheduled for Monday, September 5th at 2:00pm will be played in Ayr. Named affiliates to the Storm to start the season last year, the Centennials will host the game at the North Dumfries Community Complex.
This contest is one of six currently scheduled exhibition games for the Storm in advance of the 2022-23 OHL regular season, and marks the first time that the Storm will play an exhibition game in Ayr. The game will be extra special for Storm players Ben McFarlane and Zach Sandhu. Born and raised in Ayr, Ben will get the opportunity to play in front of his hometown crowd, while Sandhu played the majority of the 2021-22 season with the Centennials.
“The Ayr Centennials organization has provided an excellent environment for our young prospects to continue their development,” General Manager George Burnett said. “As we continue to develop this relationship, having an event like this will allow the great fans of Ayr to showcase their organization, passion for the game and the outstanding facilities at the North Dumfries Community Complex. We appreciate the cooperation of the Kitchener Rangers organization and look forward to a memorable Labour Day event.”
“We are very excited to host our first ever OHL game with our affiliate the Guelph Storm playing the Kitchener Rangers. We are so grateful to the Storm for this opportunity and also would like to thank the Rangers for participating,” Tim Barrie Director of Hockey Operations Ayr Centennials.
Ticket sales will be limited to general admission tickets. Each ticket will be priced at $12.00 with many exciting game day activities planned. Further details to be provided at a later date.
