Brayden Gillespie to join the Storm full time
Guelph Storm General Manager George Burnett has announced today that 2005-born goaltender Brayden Gillespie has joined the club full-time, effective immediately.
“Brayden has had an excellent start to his season with our affiliate club in Ayr and has played very consistently in the ten games he has participated in with the Storm. He has earned the right to be here on a full-time basis,” said George Burnett. “We would like to thank the Centennials for their role in his development and for their support in making this happen at an important time of the season.”
The 5-foot-11, 165 lbs netminder from Oakville, Ontario started the season with the team’s affiliate, the GOJHL’s Ayr Centennials, where he recorded a 0.918 save percentage and 2.97 goals-against-average in 23 games. In ten games with the Storm this season, Gillespie has posted a 5-1-3 record with a 0.892 save percentage and 2.93 goals-against-average. Gillespie was selected by Guelph in the 11th round (207th overall) in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection.
