Anderson NHL 2nd Star of the Week
NEW YORK (January 25, 2010) — Ottawa Senators goaltender Brian Elliott, Colorado Avalanche goaltender Craig Anderson and Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby have been named the NHL ‘Three Stars’ for the week ending Jan. 24.
SECOND STAR — CRAIG ANDERSON, G, COLORADO AVALANCHE
Anderson went 3-0-0 with a 0.33 goals-against average, .988 save percentage and two shutouts, helping the Avalanche (30-15-6) extend their winning streak to a season-high six games and remain atop the Northwest Division. Anderson stopped all 24 shots in a 6-0 victory over the Edmonton Oilers Jan. 18, made 29 saves in a 2-1 win over the Nashville Predators Jan. 22 and finished the week with 27 saves in his fifth shutout of the season, a 4-0 victory over the Dallas Stars Jan. 24. Anderson improved to 26-11-5 with a 2.46 goals-against average and .923 save percentage in 43 appearances.
