The Guelph Storm announced today that goaltender Cody St. Jacques is the AMJ Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, November 15th.
St. Jacques was the Storm’s best player this past weekend making 88 saves in two contests, surrendering only three goals to help his team record a perfect weekend. On Friday night in Plymouth, the 19 year old made 46 saves and let only one goal past him leading his team to a 2-1 victory over the Whalers. On Sunday afternoon in Oshawa St. Jacques made 44 saves, including 15 in the third period, to help lift his team over the Generals 3-2. Recording a 1.50 goals against average and a 0.967 save percentage over two games, the Storm netminder was named a star of the game in both contests, picking up the first star on Friday and the third star on Sunday.
This is St. Jacques’s second player of the week honour in just over a month. With an overall save percentage of 0.931 and a goals against average of 2.80, St. Jacques ranks among the top 10 goaltenders in the league.
