AMJ Player of the Week
For the second week in a row, the Guelph Storm announced that forward Taylor Beck is the AMJ Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, October 25th.
Scoring seven points in three games (two goals and five assists), Taylor was the highest Storm point getter this week. With Peter Holland and Matt Kennedy out of the line-up, the 18 year old stepped up his game recording at least one point and being honoured with a star in all three contests. Friday night at the Sleeman Centre, Beck assisted on both Storm goals helping lift his team to a 2-1 victory over the Oshawa Generals. Saturday in London the Niagara Falls native got his team on the board first scoring just over five minutes into the opening frame. In the 5-3 win over the Attack on Sunday, Taylor recorded two goals and two assists to cap off his seven point week.
Named the AMJ player of the week two weeks in a row, the Nashville Predators’ 3rd round pick has accumulated 13 points over the past two weekends. Beck sits 11th in the league for points and currently leads his team in points (20), goals (9) and assists (11). He is tied with Matt Kennedy for the most powerplay goals (4) and Michael Latta for the team’s best plus/minus rating with +10.
Next up, the Storm face another tough week traveling to Erie on Wednesday night before hosting the Barrie Colts and London Knights at the Sleeman Centre on Friday and Sunday respectively.
