- A total of eight different Spitfires players are NHL Drafted headlined by Greg Nemisz who was drafted in the 1st round (25th overall) by the Calgary Flames in 2008
- Two other Windsor players are among the top 62 players ranked by NHL Central Scouting led by defenceman Ryan Ellis who was the youngest player on Canada’s gold medal winning junior team. Ellis is currently ranked 15th among North American skaters. Taylor Hall, a third 1991 born player, is projected by many pundits as the first overall selection in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
- The Spitfires have been at their best when playing the OHL’s top clubs. Versus the eight OHL teams ranked 2nd – 9th behind Windsor, the Spitfires have a combined record of 23-1 with their only blemish being a 4-0 loss versus the Belleville Bulls.
- Windsor has lost only seven times this season with two losses versus both Erie and Plymouth.
- Along with leading the OHL in wins, goals for and goals against, the Spitfires also rank first in penalty minutes per game with a 21.9 per contest. The Storm sit 15th overall in this category with just 16 minutes per game.
- Former Kitchener Ranger netminder Josh Unice has benefitted greatly from his trade to the Spitfires. After slumping in the early going this season with the Rangers, Unice has seen his GAA with Windsor drop by 1.76 goals per game and his save percentage improve by 0.38 in his 7 games.
- Four different Windsor players rank among the OHL’s top 20 scorers led by second year forward Taylor Hall, who sits second with 73 points in 51 games.

- Storm forward Michael Latta, who was hurt in the third period of the last meeting between the two clubs could return to action in time for Friday’s rematch versus the Sting.
- Sarnia’s Justin DiBenedetto has certainly enjoyed facing the Storm this season. In the two other meetings between the two teams, the Sting’s leading scorer and third highest scorer in the OHL has 4 goals and 4 assists for 8 points.
- In their last head-to-head meeting, the Storm surrendered a late goal to send it to overtime and the Sting broke the tie in extra time. Sarnia held a decided edge in shots on goal in the game, with Jake Fischer strong between the pipes for Guelph.
- Former Storm centre Jamie Arniel looks like a lock to surpass his career best marks of 31 goals and 31 assists this season. The Kingston native has 29 goals and 25 helpers in 47 contests.
- The Storm swept the season series versus Sarnia last season and hadn’t lost in regulation in 8 straight meetings before their 6-1 home loss in January.

- Monday afternoon’s game will be Storm’s second sell-out in the past five games.
- The Knights slipped past the Kitchener Rangers on Sunday night with a 3-2 overtime win and were actually outshot 30-25. Trade deadline acquisitions Michael Del Zotto and John Tavares led the way with three assists and two goals respectively.
- The Storm enter Monday’s contest having won their last game when they picked up a tight 4-2 win over the Sarnia Sting.
- John Tavares, the projected first overall pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, makes just his fourth career visit to the Sleeman Centre. Teammate Nazem Kadri is also projected to be selected in the first round of the draft, ranked 11th overall among North American skaters.
- Since acquiring Tavares, Del Zotto and former Storm winger Leigh Salters at the deadline, the Knights have struggled to a 7-7-0-1 record in fifteen games.
