28 OHL players competing at 2024 World Junior Summer Showcase
A total of 28 OHL players are competing in this year’s World Junior Summer Showcase, with games being held at both the WFCU Centre in Windsor, Ont. as well as USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.
The annual showcase gives evaluators and opportunity to see their country’s up-and-coming talent on the ice together in a competitive environment ahead of the 2024-25 season. This year’s IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship will be held from December 26 through January 5 at the Canadian Tire Centre and TD Place Arena in Ottawa, Ont.
Last year’s World Juniors in Gothenburg, Sweden saw the United States reign supreme, defeating host Sweden in the gold medal game. Czechia emerged with bronze while Finland placed fourth. Canada settled for a quarter-final exit, losing to Czechia by a score of 3-2.
The 2024 World Junior Summer Showcase consists of Canada, the United States, Finland and Sweden.
