Storm acquire Brayden Hislop from the North Bay Battalion
General Manager George Burnett announced today that the Guelph Storm have acquired overage defenseman Brayden Hislop from the North Bay Battalion in exchange for a 3rd round pick (PBO) in 2024 and a 5th round pick (BAR) in the 2026 OHL Priority Selection.
“Brayden is a versatile defenseman who can play big minutes and provide strong leadership from the blueline,” said George Burnett. “He gained valuable experience as an important member of the Battalion’s run to the Eastern Conference Finals last spring that will make him a key part of our hockey club moving forward.”
The 2003-born blueliner from St. Clements, Ontario was originally selected in the ninthround (166th overall) by the Owen Sound Attack in the 2019 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection. In parts of two seasons in the OHL, split between the Saginaw Spiritand the North Bay Battalion, the 6-foot-1, 180lbs defender recorded 33 points (7 goals, 26 assists) and 105 PIMs with a +31 in 111 regular season games.
Prior to his OHL career, Hislop was a product of the Waterloo Wolves AAA program and would go on to suit up for the St. Mary’s Lincolns and the Elmira Sugar Kings of the GOJHL where he recorded 5 goals and 29 assists for 34 points in 64 GOJHL games.
