Buchinger and Poitras attend World Junior Summer Meetings
Hockey Canada announced today the 45 players that took part in the Program of Excellence summer meetings ahead of the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championships. The list includes Michael Buchinger and Matthew Poitras.
Michael Buchinger is coming off his second season with the Storm. The blue-liner has amassed 20 goals and 91 assists for 111 points through 124 games. Buchinger inked a three-year entry-level contract with the St. Louis Blues after being selected 88th overall in the 2022 NHL Draft.
Storm centermen Matthew Poitras had a breakout second season with the Storm, tallying 16 goals and 79 assists for 95 points in 63 games. He has solidified his name in Storm history, as he currently sits with the third-highest assist total in one season. Poitras signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Boston Bruins in May 2023. He was selected 54th overall in the 2022 NHL Draft.
