Storm acquire Patrick Leaver from the Oshawa Generals
General Manager George Burnett announced today that the Guelph Storm have acquired goaltender Patrick Leaver and a conditional 5th round pick (WSR) in 2026 from the Oshawa Generals in exchange for goaltender Jacob Oster.
The 2003-born netminder from Perth, Ontario was originally selected in the eighth round (158th overall) by the Oshawa Generals in the 2019 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection. In parts of two seasons in the OHL, the 6-foot-1, 185lbs goalie has recorded an 0.899 save percentage and 3.37 goals-against-average in 78 career games for a 34-32-8 record. This season, Leaver has earned a 3.68 goals-against-average and 0.883 save percentage over 29 games with the Generals. Before entering the OHL, Leaver suited up for the Smith Falls Bears AAA program and split the 2019-20 campaign between the Westport Rideaus and CCHL’s Smith Falls Bears.
The Guelph Storm would like to thank Jacob Oster for his hard work and dedication to the club over the past two seasons and wish him the very best in his future with Oshawa and beyond.
The Storm are on the road this week in Hamilton and London, but you can see Leaver in action at the Sleeman Centre for a two game weekend next week as the Petes visit on Friday and the Frontenacs on Sunday at 2pm.
