2022 Guelph Storm Awards – Top Defenceman Award
This year’s recipient of the Top Defenceman Award is Daniil Chayka. Congratulations Daniil!
Daniil played 165 regular season games in a Storm uniform. Drafted by the Storm in the first round (7th overall) in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection, he was the backbone of the Storm’s defence while registering 23 goals and 64 assists for 87 points.
Presented each season to the Storm’s most outstanding blueliner, the Top Defenceman Award has been won by some noteworthy alumni over the organization’s history in the OHL. The list includes former and current NHLers Kevin Dallman, Ryan Parent, Kevin Klein and Drew Doughty. Last year’s winner was Fedor Gordeev.
