Storm alumni making mark in NHL Playoffs
A pair of former Storm forwards from Upstate New York are captaining their teams in the OHL Playoffs and looking to capture the Stanley Cup.
Up 2-0 in their series versus the top ranked Vancouver Canucks, Dustin Brown and the Los Angeles Kings return to California for Game Three. In Game Two, Brown, the LA captain, tied an NHL post-season record with a pair of shorthanded goals in the Kings’ 4-2 win. The Syracuse native and former Storm winger joins such legends as Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier and Jari Kurri in the record book.
Meanwhile in Manhattan, Ryan Callahan, the captain of the New York Rangers scored the series opening goal in his club’s game one victory. The best-of-seven versus the Ottawa Senators is tied at one shifting back to Ottawa for Game Three.
Callahan along with former Storm teammate Dan Girardi are among 14 former Storm players and head coaches that are looking to win the Stanley Cup.
