Brooks Named Head Coach of Ontario Under-17 Team
The Ontario Under 17 Program Policy Committee is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Brooks as the new Head Coach of Ontario’s Under 17 Team. The Policy committee is also pleased to announce that Mario Cicchillo (Mississagua Ice Dogs) and Jake Grimes (Belleville Bulls) have been named assistant coaches for 2007-2008 and 2008-2009.
Mr. Brooks is currently the assistant coach of the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League.

All 3 of these individuals bring a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the program and I know that everyone associated with the team will benefit from there involvement.”
“I am very excited and honoured by the opportunity presented to me by the Under 17 Policy Committee today and I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead for Team Ontario in the coming months”, stated Mr. Brooks. I am also looking forward to working closely with Mario and Jake as we move forward to the Regional and Provincial camps in the next 90 days.”
Team Ontario will be participating in the 2007/2008 Under 17 World Hockey Challenge being held in London Ontario from December 29, 2007 until January 4, 2008.
The Ontario Under 17 Program is a component of Hockey Canada’s Program of Excellence and is facilitated through the Hockey Development Centre for Ontario on behalf of their 3 Ontario Branches. The program receives financial support from the Ontario Ministry of Health Promotion. In total, more than 1500 players will participate at regional Under 17 identification camps throughout Ontario this spring.
