The Guelph Storm will kick off the 2009-10 season Sept. 18 when the Saginaw Spirit visits the Sleeman Centre.
The team’s 68-game schedule sees them play 19 of their 34 home games Friday nights. There are nine Sunday games, two games both Wednesday and Saturday, and one each Monday and Tuesday.
The Ontario Hockey League schedule was released yesterday and it sees the Storm playing seven of its first 10 games at home, and includes a 7:30pm game on New Year’s Day.
Last week the league also released the OHL pre-season schedule. The Storm will play a total of five exhibition games, including two at the Sleeman Centre.
Kicking off the pre-season schedule at home the Storm match up against the Barrie Colts on Sunday, August 30th before hosting the Brampton Battalion on Thursday, September 3rd. The next night the Storm see themselves in Brampton for the back end of a home and home visiting the Powerade Centre for a 7:30 pm start. Travelling to Niagara the Storm take on the Ice Dogs on Thursday, September 10th, before wrapping up the exhibition season with a game in Barrie against the Colts on Saturday, September 12th at 7:00 pm.
